A group of mostly Maumelle residents has started a petition drive in an effort to stop what it calls the overdevelopment of the fast-growing eastern boundary of Maumelle and the western edge of North Little Rock running along Maumelle Boulevard.

A controversial proposal to rezone 10.44 acres off Crystal Hill Road near the Arkansas River from single family to multi-family is on Thursday’s Planning Committee agenda.
